How to opt out of LiveRamp
- 1
Open Your Privacy Choices
Opt-out requests are open to everyone in the US, not only residents of states with a privacy law.
- 2
Choose opt-out or deletion
An opt-out stops LiveRamp using your data for ad targeting and for transfers to others. Deletion is a separate request. If you mainly want fewer personalized ads, LiveRamp suggests the opt-out.
- 3
Enter your name and email
LiveRamp needs your first and last name and your email to opt out every identifier it links to you. Its California notice also asks for your state of residence.
- 4
Finish verification if you asked for deletion
LiveRamp says an opt-out needs no identity check. Deletion does: email verification and knowledge-based questions, and sometimes proof that you live in a protected state.
- 5
Optional: opt out by phone or browser signal
You can call (844) 678-0045 and enter service code 1. LiveRamp also treats a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser as an opt-out of sale for that browser.
Watch out for
- Skip the name and email and you can only opt out a device identifier or a browser cookie. A cookie opt-out covers that one browser.
- Deleting your data doesn't stop online ads, according to LiveRamp.
- You'll still get ads and marketing email after opting out. LiveRamp says they may be less relevant.
- California residents can make a verifiable access or deletion request only twice in 12 months.

Does it come back?
LiveRamp doesn't publish a relisting policy. Keep the browser signal on, and file the request again if you change email or device.
Your rights
LiveRamp Holdings, Inc. is on the California data broker registry. Its docs give opt-outs 15 business days and deletions 45 days.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond. Read the full guide.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once. Read the full guide.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people. Read the full guide.
Canada: PIPEDA. You can withdraw your consent to a company using your personal information and ask it to correct what it holds. If it doesn't respond, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Read the full guide.
United Kingdom: UK GDPR. You can ask any company to erase your personal data and to stop using it for direct marketing. It has one month to respond. If it doesn't, you can complain to the ICO. Read the full guide.
European Union: GDPR. You have the right to have your personal data erased and to object to its use for direct marketing. Companies must respond within one month, and you can complain to your national data protection authority if they don't. Read the full guide.
Australia: Privacy Act. You can tell a company to stop using your information for direct marketing and ask it to correct what it holds. If it doesn't act, you can complain to the OAIC. Read the full guide.

Frequently asked
What does a LiveRamp opt-out actually stop?
It stops LiveRamp using your data for ad targeting and data transfers, which is how LiveRamp frames the choice. It isn't a listing you search for and remove.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Not for an opt-out. For deletion, correction or access LiveRamp requires email verification and challenge questions.
Does opting out remove my ads?
No. LiveRamp says you'll still see advertisements, but they may be less relevant.
Can I request this outside the US?
LiveRamp points UK and EU residents to its regional rights pages.
