How to opt out of IDStrong
- 1
Open the IDStrong opt-out page
Go to members.idstrong.com/opt-out. It is the page InfoPay's California registry entry gives for IDStrong, and it lists your privacy choices.
- 2
Use the Do Not Sell or Share form
The page sends you to a form on IDStrong's Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page to exercise your rights, including deletion. IDStrong says it may ask extra questions to confirm which record is yours, and it answers within 45 days or tells you if it needs more time.
- 3
Email IDStrong if you're a covered person or have an expunged record
Judges, prosecutors, law enforcement members and their household family can email privacy@idstrong.com with the subject "Attention Covered Person Removal Request". For an expunged or sealed record still showing, use the subject "Attention Expungement Records". If a request is denied, appeals go to the same address.
- 4
Email InfoPay if you'd rather write
The registry entry lists compliance@infopay.com as the privacy contact and 800-309-9351 as the phone number.
- 5
Check the other InfoPay brands
InfoTracer, RecordsFinder, PropertyChecker and the rest each have their own opt-out page. They are listed in the InfoPay guide.
Watch out for
- IDStrong sells identity protection, but InfoPay's registry filing lists it next to its search brands, so a record about you can sit on IDStrong and on the other brands separately.
- InfoPay reports a median of 6 days to respond to deletion requests in 2024. It also reports denying some requests, so check your listing afterwards.

Your rights
InfoPay is on the California data broker registry, so California residents can also use the Delete Act's DROP tool at privacy.ca.gov/drop.
California: CCPA. If you live in California, the CCPA lets you ask a business to delete the personal information it holds about you and to stop selling or sharing it. Businesses generally have 45 days to respond. Read the full guide.
California: the Delete Act. Data brokers that hold information on Californians must register with the state. California residents can use DROP, the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, to send one deletion request to every registered broker at once. Read the full guide.
Other US states. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and a growing list of other states give residents a similar right to delete. Vermont, Texas and Oregon also make data brokers register with the state. Where no state law applies, the broker's own opt-out above still works for most people. Read the full guide.
